Quick and easy meal idea's:

A major part of getting outdoors is having a good meal to come home to. With the help of "Wattie's food in a minute" we have come up with the  Southern Outdoors Cook Book, full of economical, tasty meals. Go to:  http://www.foodinaminute.co.nz/SharedCookBook/shared_cookbook_landing.aspx

scroll down to the profile box and type in: southern o/d and hit enter. Once in, just click on the picture and your in.

Gear information and reviews:

http://www.wildernessmag.com/gear_reviews/index.htm   This information is from the New Zealand Wilderness magazine. Due to the extreme conditions we have here in the outdoors, our gear has to be the best and the Wilderness team do a great job of sorting out the good, the bad and the ugly.

And for something totally different: Ever wondered what some of our fishy, animal friends are up to? Well now you can find out by logging on to  http://las.pfeg.noaa.gov/TOPP_recent/index.html and track the movement of sharks, sea lions, turtles, whales and albatross. Sure its on the East coast of America, but very cool all the same. Some red deer in Fiordland would be nice.

Sometimes when you are out on your bike, you get to see some cool things. Here is a guy with his model float plane, out enjoying the flood water on the Taieri.

Otago Harbour recently.

Kate with our Christmas yacht made from rubbish. Got the idea from www.duckworksmagazine.com. Ended up taking the weight off the bottom of the keel and just adding a bit of water to the bottles and it sailed just fine. Tube of constructing glue in a chalking gun was handy during construction.

Lake Benmore with New Zealand's highest mountain in the background, Mt Cook.

Ray Web out in the Blue Mountains deer hunting and stumbled across this.

The winning lure for Wanaka this summer. Found this in my Dad's old tackle box, must be at least 15 yrs old.
